Hi Ali, I confirm that to my knowledge PFA will never work with non-Romanian citizens. On the web there are info that claim that this may be possible, but every time we tried, we got rejected by Trade Registry. It seems to be a practice that started about five years ago, which prevents non-Romanian individuals to open a PFA
That is not that bad situation in my opinion. It is better from tax pov, especially if both of you work full time, to create a SRL (micro-enterprise). SRL are much better positioned from tax burden point of view
Here there is an blog (sorry, in Romanian, but hopefully you can google translate) where, at its bottom, there is a zip file containing an excel file. You may download and compare the tax level for each situation: 2 PFA (10% tax and 10% CASS) vs. 1 SRL microenterprise or 1 SRL (1% on profit) vs. profit payment (16% on profit)
